Advertising Week Europe is going single-use plastic free in support of the Trash Isles – a major environmental campaign by LADbible Group empowering millennials to act on the issue of the plastic pollution epidemic in our oceans.
It’s the first time a leading advertising conference has taken such a momentous step and adds momentum to the growing calls from brands, agencies and the general public for more to be done about the plastic pollution epidemic.
In an innovative move, all single-use plastic water bottles across Advertising Week Europe will be replaced with complimentary environmentally-friendly Trash Isles resealable canned water.
Produced by CanO Water, the cans offer a simple yet effective alternative to single-use plastic water bottles.
Delegates will also be encouraged to use water refill stations situated in prominent locations across the Picturehouse Central venue.
You can also catch us hosting various panels across the festival next week. We’re honoured to be Advertising Week Europe’s opening headliner, with a very special Trash Isles panel featuring Sky Ocean Rescue and Project 0.
This main stage session takes place on Monday 19th March at 9.15am and explores how the creative industries became the real catalyst for raising awareness of plastic pollution, which is resulting in significant positive action from the general public, brands and even government policies. See event details.
As part of a wider series of ‘positively social’ moments, LADbible will also host a discussion about the importance of listening to millennials and why brands can benefit from creating relevant campaigns that empower this audiences to drive social change. The panel – ‘For the Social Good: LADbible’s approach to meaningful campaigns’ – features leading brands and activists. It takes place on Stage 3 at 3:15pm on Tuesday 20th March. See event details.
There will also be an opportunity to hear from the creative team behind the Trash Isles, with a short creative execution presentation taking place on the NewGen Stage at 1.45pm on Tuesday 20th March.
Arian Kalantari, LADbible Groups Co-Founder says: “Plastic pollution is the biggest environmental issue of our time and one that our millennial audience care passionately about. We are proud to be partnering with Advertising Week to bring the Trash Isles to the event and hope it opens up a debate within the industry to help find real life solutions to the problem of single-use plastics.”
